'excuse me do you have a violin to play?'

Tonight I'm having a sulk, yes I have a definite face on! I can't tell you why it started but its definatley here, I wanted to get the house all sorted tonight and start making priority lists for the wedding, but the tiniest of my little girls woke up about half an hour after going to bed and even though terribly tired just cannot sleep, in fact as i here writing this at 1am can still hear her chatting away to her daddy, so that is 5 1/2 hours past bed time, luckally my big girl was not disturbed. So now I haven't sorted any house things out, I am sat surrounded by cubboard crap with nothing done for the wedding, there is a suspicious smell lurking which I can't find. Mmmmm Oh well tomorrow is a new day. Over and out Ruby xxxxx

One very Large Cup

This afternoon I have been watching My two gorgeous girls wreck havoc in the house, I was going to intercept but they just looked to happy to disturb! So instead I see about sorting out the base for the seating plan, I have used possibly the worlds largest spotty teacup!I'm absolutely fab I got it from my local garden center and I even talked them into giving me a discount as it didn't have a box ( they did then find the box, but still gave me 10% off! how totally kind)I have decorated it with moss and flowers they aren't real and are the only fake flowers that I shall be using as the rest will come from the flower market the Day before, but I must say that I think it looks so pretty, the seating plan once finished will stick out of the back and I am defo going to have this beauty kept for the house after the wedding! The Nocturnal Bride

I'm not the best at sleeping at the moment I haven't been for a few months, about three nights out of every week I just don't sleep at all, I try to, I get ready for bed go to bed but then just lay there wide awake going over things in my head, I not sure if the reality of what we are doing is catching up with me, the whole getting married on no budget at all we are just paying for everything as we go along, we only have three big things to pay for : The Church £580, The Marquee which we go a really good deal on but that's still around about £700 and the Hog Roast for the night do which we will serve ourselves £350 so that is all of Mr D's wages gone from now till the wedding, everything else is home made of bought really really cheaply which I actually love because I love the thrill of finding a bargain! I do know that I will all work out, well it has to because its all booked, but everyone likes a good moan! I am truly grateful to you beautiful readers for listening!
So last night as it rained I stood on the door step and watched the the shower wash all the cobwebs away as everyone else slept and I suddenly realized just how beautiful the roses are that hang over my door in fact I was so impressed I went and found my camera at 4.30am to take a few snaps

Little gifts for the people I love

As soon as I tell people about our wedding I always start by saying 'Its not a posh formal do' that's not because we can't afford one (even though we can't) but its because its definitely not us at all! so instead we are heading from the church to the village hall where we are having an afternoon tea party and then later we are having a marquee in a little field right next to our house. Daytime will be all bunting and cream teas and for the night I want more jewel colours....So much to do. So today I started with the favours for the tea party, there will be lots of jars of sweeties so I ruled them out as a favour and opted for wild flower seeds, which we did like this......4 boxes of the prettiest wild flower seeds from the Pound Shop all poured into a bowl and mixed up, I then spooned them into little brown envelopes and stamped them with 'Shake me & Rake me' I then designed postcards on Vista Print which cost about £11.00 ( and they sent me a free pen!) I then stapled with coloured staples (£0.99 Ebay) the seeds onto the back of the postcards and here we are, What do you think I really love them!

Licking and a sticking the invites are out!

Thats right folks they have been trimmed, printed, glued, addressed and a whole lot more! but they have finally been stamped and sent, that is with a little help from my friends. First my beautiful friend Julie designed and made these labels
which we stuck onto textured paper and then onto the cards. Here are
the wonderful ladies at my Wednesday craft night helping out, we then used
a punch to cut out a pretty heart shape on the inside of the card at the bottom. I then got some brown luggage labels, which I stamped with
Save the Date on one side and the wedding date on the other. I decorated with a butterfly punch at the bottom and a bunch of sweet-peas in the middle created using an amazing thing that I found called Flower Soft its brilliant with no skill required! Basically I drew a few stems with a pen stuck a blob of glue on top, sprinkled the stuff on top, tapped off the excess and VoilĂ ! Bouquet
done and here they are
I have tucked these inside the invites so that guests can hang them on their calenders!

Just where we are

Hello there my name is Ruby and I live at Cottage Number 2 in sunny South Yorkshire, this is me here
Not the best photo in the world, but the best of a bad bu
nch! I live with Mr D my best friend and husband to be, this is him here

Once again not the greatest snap but he is rather camera shy! Also in our little cottage are our beautiful amazing little girls, who are here

aged 3 and 1 they are the greatest joy in the whole wide world. We also live with our black & white cat Tallulah, three goldfish and two rabbits whose names are still not 100% known.
Now I like to spend my days been a mummy, baking, crafting and trying to make pretty things, they don't always turn out perfect but I still keep them because cottage number 2 is rather Higgledy Piggledy. However right now is very special time at cottage number 2, because right now we are making everything for our WEDDING! I am so excited but so nervous too! we only booked it a couple of months ago and since then its been none stop wedding crafting, we want to try and make as much as we can and luckily my sister and friends are helping out loads too. Hopefully I haven't bored you too much so far and you will carry on reading as I have loads to share and am always looking for opinions and tips x
